Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4: Console Testing Update and Save Transfer News
Undertale creator Toby Fox has provided a progress update on the console testing for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. While significant work remains, the process is reportedly proceeding smoothly.
Save Transfers on the Horizon
Fox confirmed on Bluesky that console testing is underway, with fewer bugs than before, but extensive testing remains. Notably, they are actively working on implementing save transfer functionality from the Chapters 1 and 2 demo to the full release of Chapters 3 and 4. This feature, enabled by recently acquired technology, will allow players to continue their progress. Fox expressed optimism about its success. Given the positive beta testing, a release date may be imminent. Chapters 3 and 4 are slated for a 2025 release, as previously announced.
A Cryptic Minigame and a New Character: Tenna
Fox shared humorous anecdotes about a minigame he's developing, with family and friends describing it as a "cry for help" due to the game's delayed release. This sparked speculation that the minigame might be intended for Chapter 5, given that Chapters 3 and 4's content is complete. Deltarune is planned as a seven-chapter series.
Furthermore, Fox mentioned a friend's nostalgic comment about a character named Tenna, a character previously unseen in the game but introduced during the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign in September 2022. This confirms Tenna's appearance in Chapter 3.
Deltarune, a spiritual successor to Undertale, continues the unique gameplay and storytelling style of its predecessor, following Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their world-saving adventure.
