Neil Druckmann's highly anticipated Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has finally revealed some details about its intriguing setting, unveiled during a recent Creator to Creator show appearance. The game plunges players into an alternate future diverging from our own timeline in the late 1980s. Central to this future is a new, dominant religion that has spread across the Intergalactic universe. Naughty Dog has invested years crafting the rich lore of this religion, from its origins with its first prophet to its subsequent evolution and eventual corruption.

This religion’s birthplace is a single, isolated planet, now completely severed from the rest of the galaxy. The game's protagonist crash-lands onto this very planet, finding herself utterly alone and facing a desperate struggle for survival. This solitary struggle forms a core theme of the project, a stark contrast to previous Naughty Dog titles which often featured companions. In Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, players must navigate this challenging environment and solve its mysteries completely independently if they hope to escape.

Despite four years of development, a release date remains elusive. For now, fans eagerly await further announcements.
