A new evil ending has been revealed in Baldur's Gate

Baldur's Gate 3's hidden depths continue to be unearthed. Larian Studios' RPG is steadily revealing its many secrets, thanks in part to dedicated dataminers.

Dataminers have uncovered numerous secrets within Baldur's Gate 3, including a previously discovered, particularly grim ending. This ending, recently rediscovered during testing of the eighth major patch, allows the player character to forcibly remove and destroy the illithid parasite without harm to themselves. A subsequent choice then presents itself: depart with companions, or leave them behind.

The community speculates that this ending will be fully implemented with the release of patch eight.

Recent layoffs at BioWare, the studio behind Dragon Age: The Veilguard, have fueled industry-wide conversations about the current climate. In contrast, Michael Daus, Larian Studios' publishing director, remains active on social media.

He recently commented on these layoffs, emphasizing the importance of valuing employees and advocating for leadership to bear the brunt of financial difficulties rather than rank-and-file workers. He argued against widespread layoffs between or after projects, stressing the vital role of retaining institutional knowledge for future endeavors.
