Kicking off the Naruto: Path of series is Naruto: Konoha Ninpōchō, a 2003 release exclusive to Japan's Bandai WonderSwan Color handheld console. This console, released in 1999, never saw international distribution, limiting the game's reach. The game's narrative centers around the Land of Waves arc, enhanced with additional missions for Team 7.

Another Japan-only title, Naruto: Konoha Senki, developed by Tomy for the Game Boy Advance, also debuted in 2003. This game covers the first 70 anime episodes, encompassing the Land of Waves and Chūnin Exams arcs. Initially, players control only Team 7 and Kakashi, but additional characters become playable upon progression.

Despite its numbering, Naruto RPG 2: Chidori vs. Rasengan is the sequel to Naruto: Path of the Ninja, another Tomy-developed Nintendo DS game released in 2005 and exclusive to Japan. This game follows the Search for Tsunade arc, concluding with Sasuke's escape from Konoha during the Sasuke Recovery Mission.

Concluding the series is Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2, a Tomy-developed Nintendo DS title initially released in Japan in 2006, with a global release following in 2008. Unlike its predecessors, this game features an original, non-canon storyline. The Three Ryūdōin Brothers serve as the main antagonists, alongside an original Anbu character who allies with the player.

These five games, while uniquely titled, collectively offer a diverse range of Naruto gaming experiences.
