This 80s-set showdown follows Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and Godzilla vs. Hulk #1. The story unfolds after Secret Wars (1984), with Peter Parker still adjusting to his new symbiote suit. He'll need every bit of its power to face Godzilla's monstrous assault on New York City.
Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 is penned by Joe Kelly (the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man relaunch), illustrated by Nick Bradshaw ( Wolverine and the X-Men), and features cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.
Kelly shared his excitement, stating, "This book is a chance to go wild with two iconic characters, capturing the 80s vibe. Nick Bradshaw perfectly balances the absurdity and gravitas, giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his…black suit!) the respect they deserve. It's a love letter with an earth-shattering roar!"
While DC Comics recently released Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong, this Marvel series features classic Toho Godzilla, not the MonsterVerse iteration. This announcement also follows the unveiling of IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a charity anthology.
Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 stomps onto the scene April 30, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates on Marvel and DC's 2025 comic releases.
