In the world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, villages occasionally face threats from monsters that prefer the wild, such as the rampaging Alpha Doshaguma. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you tackle this formidable foe.
Known Habitats: Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, and Ruins of Wyveria
Breakable Parts: Tail and Forelegs
Recommended Elemental Attack: Fire and Lightning
Effective Status Effects: Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (2x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (2x)
Effective Items: Flash Pod, Shock Trap, Pitfall Trap
The Alpha Doshaguma, despite its massive size, is surprisingly agile, capable of jumping and dashing around the arena. This agility can make it challenging for melee weapon users to land hits. A strategic approach is to utilize a Flash Pod, which will temporarily blind the monster, giving you a window to attack or even mount its back for a more advantageous position.
For optimal damage, focus your attacks on Doshaguma’s legs. The forelegs are particularly vulnerable with a 3-star weakness. While the back legs have a lesser 2-star weakness, they're still viable targets. The head, also with a 3-star weakness, is another prime area for damage. Although less effective, attacking the tail can lead to breaking it, yielding valuable parts.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, Doshaguma is especially susceptible to fire and lightning. Bowgun users should stock up on Flaming and Thunder ammo. Enhancing your weapon with fire skill decorations can also be beneficial. When using fire attacks, target the head and torso for maximum effect. Conversely, focus solely on the head when employing lightning attacks.
Doshaguma can inflict Blastblight, a status ailment that can lead to an explosion if not addressed. To counteract this, use a Nulberry or Deodorant, or dodge-roll three times to remove the effect before it escalates.
Leveraging the environment is crucial when facing Doshaguma. The areas it inhabits often feature natural traps that can be used to your advantage. Ensure your weapon is sheathed before deploying your slinger, and position the monster directly under the trap for maximum impact.

Capturing Doshaguma alive is another option in Monster Hunter Wilds. To do this, weaken the monster until its HP drops to 20 percent or below. Set up a Shock or Pitfall Trap nearby and maneuver the monster into it. If it's not focused on you, use Luring Ammo or place meat as bait. Once trapped, quickly administer tranquilizers, possibly multiple times, to ensure the monster falls asleep.
This guide covers all you need to know about hunting and capturing Doshaguma in Monster Hunter Wilds. Before confronting this beast, remember to fuel up with a hearty meal to gain essential food buffs.
