The Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault has unveiled its eight finalists, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown. With over 515,000 players from 221 countries competing in 9.5 million Tennis Clash matches, the competition has been fierce. Now, the final eight are ready to battle it out in an unforgettable event.
Reigning champion Alessandro Bianco will defend his title against a talented field including Hizir Balkanci, the winner of the first Open Qualifier, alongside Anyndia Lestari, Omer Feder, Adjua Thembisa Boucher, Eugen Mosdir, Bartu Yildirim, and Samuel Sanin Ortiz. They'll clash on May 24th at the Roland-Garros Tenniseum.
This year's format is set to ramp up the excitement. The finalists will be divided into two teams, each led by a tennis legend. Gilles Simon, former ATP world number 6 and a finalist from last year, will captain one team, while former Wimbledon Champion Marion Bartoli will lead the other.
In a thrilling series of matches, these teams will compete, with the victors advancing to the Winner Bracket. However, the competition doesn't end for the defeated, as they will have a chance to redeem themselves in the Loser Bracket. Here, the teams disband, and it's every player for themselves, with only one emerging as the Roland-Garros eSeries champion.
Adding to the excitement, Samuel Etienne, a renowned French personality and Twitch streamer with over 1 million followers, will host the event. He'll be joined by esports expert Quento and former Tennis Clash number 1, Benny, known as GP365. The tournament will immerse viewers in the Roland-Garros spirit, featuring a replica of the iconic Philippe-Chatrier court and custom outfits. Esteemed French umpire Aurélie Tourte will officiate what promises to be a series of thrilling matches.
The event will accommodate 250 spectators in the auditorium and will be broadcast live on Samuel Etienne's Twitch and the Roland-Garros YouTube channels starting at 4pm CEST. Viewers can watch every match and enjoy interactive segments, with special guests engaging in passionate discussions and celebrating the worlds of tennis and eTennis.
