The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy promises to elevate your wizarding experience with enhanced visuals, quicker loading times, and innovative mouse controls. As showcased in a fresh comparison teaser trailer, the Switch 2 version allows for seamless transitions between areas, such as moving in and out of Hogsmeade, without the loading screens that players of the original game had to endure.
But the improvements don't stop there. The Nintendo Switch 2 enhances the frame rate, textures, shadows, and even the color saturation of Hogwarts and its surrounding environments. You can witness these upgrades firsthand in the trailer below:
As for the new mouse controls, while Warner Bros. hasn't revealed all the details yet, there's speculation that they might be used during spell-casting, adding a new layer of interactivity to the gameplay.
Similar to other games on the original Switch, players who own Hogwarts Legacy on the first system can upgrade to this enhanced version for just $10.
Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, action-packed, open-world role-playing game set in the 1800s wizarding world. Starting as a fifth-year student, players will embark on a journey through both new and familiar locations, explore and discover magical beasts, craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade talents, and customize their character to become the witch or wizard they've always dreamed of being. The game is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day the console releases, June 5.
We thoroughly enjoyed Hogwarts Legacy, giving it a 9/10 in our IGN Hogwart's Legacy review, stating: "in almost every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG [we've] always wanted to play."
