Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. This marks the end of Season 1, a remarkably long 75-day run, making it one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.
While specifics on Season 2's content remain under wraps, anticipation is high. The incredibly successful launch of Black Ops 6, boasting record player numbers in its first month, has recently seen a downturn, attributed to ongoing issues with cheating in Ranked Play and persistent server problems. The new season is expected to revitalize the game with fresh content and crucial improvements.
Season 2 Launch Confirmed
Treyarch confirmed the January 28th launch date in a recent update addressing Zombies mode issues. While some fixes were postponed for Season 2, the studio explicitly stated the launch date. A detailed blog post unveiling Season 2's features is expected soon.
Season 1 delivered a substantial content drop, including new multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events. Warzone players also experienced a significant overhaul with the Black Ops 6 integration, introducing new movement mechanics, weapons, gameplay changes, and the Area-99 Resurgence map. The season also saw the welcome return of popular maps like Nuketown and Hacienda from Black Ops 4.
Looking ahead, Treyarch has hinted at more classic map remasters for Season 2, although they've emphasized the importance of original content. Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie stated in a December interview that while no Black Ops map is excluded from potential remastering, the focus remains on creating new maps.
