The television adaptation of *The Last of Us* has been a massive hit, securing a Season 3 before Season 2 even premiered. Now, fans are buzzing with the question: Will there be a Season 4? According to showrunner Craig Mazin, a fourth season is almost a necessity to fully tell the story derived from the two video games developed by Naughty Dog.

In an interview with Collider, Mazin explained that attempting to conclude the narrative within Season 3 would stretch the season out indefinitely. He noted that while Season 3 might be "longer than Season 2," it simply wouldn't be feasible to wrap up the entire story in just three seasons. "There’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season," Mazin stated.

He further elaborated on the likelihood of a fourth season, expressing optimism about the show's future: "Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
