Marvel Halts Three TV Shows

Marvel Television has reportedly put three shows on hold: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. Sources at Deadline indicate these projects weren't officially greenlit, leaving their future uncertain despite the possibility of eventual release. This strategic shift reflects Marvel's changing priorities.

This change in approach coincides with Marvel Studios' upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. This week, Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming and TV at Marvel Studios, revealed the company is exploring a reunion of the street-level heroes from Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist—better known as The Defenders.

Marvel Studios is now focusing on developing more shows than it produces, a strategy Winderbaum explained to Screen Rant last year: “We’re really being careful about what we choose to do next.”

Following the release of Captain America: Brave New World, three MCU films are scheduled for this year: Thunderbolts in May and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
