Marvel Rivals follows the footsteps of Overwatch with its Spring Festival event

Marvel Rivals is launching a major Spring Festival event this Thursday! Players can snag a free Star-Lord costume and jump into a brand-new game mode: Clash of Dancing Lions. This 3v3 mode challenges teams to score a ball in their opponent's goal.

While the gameplay might evoke comparisons to Rocket League, it bears a closer resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball – a similarly ball-based 3v3 mode. This comparison is particularly interesting given Marvel Rivals' current trajectory. The game has seemingly outpaced Overwatch in popularity and needs to establish its own unique identity. The use of a similar game mode for its inaugural major event, albeit with a distinct Chinese New Year theme instead of an Olympic theme, is noteworthy.

The good news is the Spring Festival event begins very soon, so players won't have to wait long to experience the new mode and claim their free reward.
