From increased spawns to exclusive bonuses and brand new avatar items, this event gives Trainers the perfect opportunity to dive deep into insect-themed Pokemon encounters.

Event Details

When is the *Pokemon GO* Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event officially begins on March 26 at 10 AM local time and runs through to 8 PM local time on March 30. That gives players five full days to immerse themselves in catching some of the creepiest-crawliest creatures in the game. If you're a fan of Shiny hunting, this event is especially exciting — many featured Pokemon have confirmed Shiny forms.

Featured Wild Pokemon for the *Pokemon GO* Bug Out Event

Demanding the spotlight during this event are various bug-type Pokemon appearing more frequently in the wild. The following critters will be out in force:

  • Caterpie
  • Weedle
  • Wurmple
  • Nincada
  • Venipede
  • Dwebble
  • Joltik
  • Grubbin
  • Dewpider
  • Nymble
  • Cutiefly (Shiny Potential)

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

As an added treat, two new additions make their debut during the Bug Out event:

  • Sizzlipede
  • Centiskorch (evolve Sizzlipede using 50 Sizzlipede Candy)

Featured Raid Pokemon for the *Pokemon GO* Bug Out Event

Raid battles will be packed with bug-type action, offering both solo and group trainers the chance to encounter powerful species. Here's what you can expect in raids:

  • Scyther*

  • Sizzlipede

Three-Star Raids

  • Beedrill*
  • Scizor*
  • Kleavor*

All *Pokemon GO* Bug Out Event Bonuses

During the event, Trainers will enjoy a suite of valuable bonuses designed to enhance gameplay and progression:

  • Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better
  • Increased Candy rewards for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
  • More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers Level 31 and above)
  • Lure Modules attract Sizzlipede more frequently
  • Higher chance to encounter Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede
  • Additional Pokemon appear near lured PokeStops after catching multiple Pokemon with one Lure Module

*Pokemon GO* Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

PokeStops will dispense event-specific Field Research tasks, which may reward Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and special Pokemon encounters.

In addition, completing Timed Research tasks grants a Lure Module and event Pokemon encounters. For those opting into Paid Timed Research, rewards include a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and even more event Pokemon encounters. All research must be completed before the event ends to claim your prizes.

For the first time, players can access exclusive bug-themed avatar items from the in-game shop:

  • Sizzlipede Boots
  • Scolipede Jacket

*Pokemon GO* Bug Out Collection Challenges

Take part in specially crafted Collection Challenges featuring event Pokemon. Completing these challenges unlocks valuable rewards like Stardust, XP, and additional encounters with event-exclusive Pokemon.
