Marvel Rivals' upcoming update, as discovered by reliable dataminer X0X_Leaks, suggests the addition of a PvE mode featuring a boss battle against a kraken. While the kraken model includes animations, high-resolution textures are currently absent. The dataminer showcased a size comparison using in-game parameters to illustrate its potential appearance.
Separately, Marvel Rivals announced details of its significant Spring Festival event, launching this Thursday. This event introduces a unique three-player team-based game mode called "Clash of Dancing Lions," where players compete to score a ball into the opposing team's goal.
This mode bears a striking resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball, and indirectly, Rocket League. This similarity is noteworthy, given Marvel Rivals' apparent aim to establish a distinct identity from Overwatch, requiring the creation of original content. However, this inaugural major event arguably mirrors Overwatch's initial special game mode, albeit with a pronounced Chinese cultural theme in contrast to Overwatch's Olympic Games aesthetic.
