The new best Marvel Rivals hero is a surprise due to stats

To enhance the gameplay experience and increase the popularity of certain characters like Storm and Black Widow, who were previously underplayed, NetEase Games made substantial balance adjustments to the heroes of Marvel Rivals in January as Season 1 commenced.

Following these updates, Storm received significant enhancements, leading to a dramatic surge in her popularity and effectiveness. According to Rivals Meta, Storm now boasts the highest win rate in the game, marking a significant leap from her earlier position on the hero selection list. In competitive mode, her win percentage soars above 56%, with her pick rate climbing to 16%. This is a stark contrast to her previous stats, where she barely registered 1% pick rate. Storm has now surpassed heroes like Adam Warlock, Jeff, Spider-Man, Hela, Hulk, Magic, and Iron Man, among others.

Despite Storm's rise, the most popular character duo of the first season remains Cloak and Dagger. However, their win percentage has slipped below 49%. On the other end of the spectrum, Black Widow continues to be the least picked and least successful character in the game.

Marvel Rivals is currently witnessing growth with hundreds of thousands of players, including those engaged in its competitive mode. Achieving the Grandmaster title is an exclusive feat, attained by only 0.1% of players, despite the existence of the Celestial rank.

Reaching such elite levels is challenging, yet one player achieved something extraordinary during the first season. This player reached Grandmaster without taking any damage in all 108 games played, focusing solely on healing teammates while playing as Rocket Raccoon. They managed to restore over 2.9 million health points in those matches and recorded nearly 3,500 assists, all while avoiding any knockouts.
