Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

Get ready, Marvel Rivals fans! Season 2 is bringing exciting changes, including revamped team-up skills and brand-new skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man. Read on to discover what NetEase has planned.

Upcoming Updates for Marvel Rivals

New Team-Up Skills and Adjustments

Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

Marvel Rivals Game Director Guangyun Chen revealed significant changes to team-up skills in an interview with PC Gamer on March 14th. He stated, "Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones. This, along with overall balance adjustments, will create a fresh combat experience."

Currently, the game boasts 17 team-up skills, including notable combinations like Hela's Ragnarok Rebirth, Cloak & Dagger's Lunar Force, and Allied Agents for Hawkeye and Black Widow. Balancing these skills with the game's expanding roster will be a considerable challenge for NetEase.

Hero Balancing

Chen also addressed the challenge of balancing heroes as the roster grows. He explained, "We closely monitor key metrics across different modes (Quick Match and Competitive), analyzing win rates, pick rates, damage, healing, damage taken, and final blows at various ranks. This data guides our balancing efforts." He added that analyzing team compositions and win rates, alongside community feedback, plays a crucial role in their balancing decisions.

Chen previously mentioned (in a January interview with Metro) the addition of a new hero every half-season. With seasons lasting approximately three months, this translates to eight new heroes annually. This continuous growth presents a significant balancing challenge for the development team.

He confirmed that Season 2 content is finalized, with Seasons 3 and 4 currently under development. This reinforces NetEase's commitment to supporting Marvel Rivals for the long term, as previously stated—a ten-year plan and beyond.

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man Arrive March 20th

NetEase announced on Marvel Rivals' official Twitter (X) account on March 18th the arrival of new skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man on March 20th at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21st at 2:00 AM UTC. Spider-Man gets a futuristic "Spider-Punk 2099" skin featuring a digital mask, spiked mohawk, and electric guitar. Iron Man's "Steam Power" skin boasts a steampunk aesthetic with large exhaust pipes and a burning furnace.

These skins were previously available during the game's closed beta, alongside Loki's Presidential attire, now officially released. While the release date is set, pricing details remain unannounced.

With Season 1 winding down, NetEase is preparing for a significant Season 2 update. Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates!
