Home > News > Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date Finally Confirmed — Officially This Time
The official release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was revealed during Sony's State of Play 2025 presentation, accompanied by a fresh trailer.
The August 28, 2025 launch date, which had leaked previously via the PlayStation Store alongside the trailer, received official confirmation during the State of Play event.
A tantalizing glimpse of an Ape Escape collaboration was also showcased, followed by the intriguing message "And More," hinting at potential future crossovers. This initial collaboration appears to be a nod to the original Metal Gear Solid 3's monkey minigame, where Snake used stun grenades and his "Monkey Shaker" to subdue the primates.
While boasting a new first-person viewpoint, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater largely remains a faithful recreation of its predecessor. As IGN noted in its preview, "Metal Gear Solid Delta feels more like a highly polished HD remaster than a refined remake. It's undeniably a beautiful nostalgic experience, but perhaps too faithful to the original."
