If you're a fan of *The Last of Us* eagerly awaiting news about a potential Part 3, brace yourself for some disappointing news. Neil Druckmann, the mastermind behind the series, has recently cast a shadow over any hopes for a continuation of the saga. In a comprehensive interview with Variety, primarily focused on the *The Last of Us* TV series, Druckmann addressed the burning question about *The Last of Us Part 3* at the end of the discussion. His response was nothing short of a definitive shutdown:

“I was waiting for this question,” he said with a sigh. “I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it.”

The big question now is whether to take Druckmann's words at face value. Currently, Naughty Dog is fully immersed in developing *Intergalactic*, a new project unveiled at The Game Awards last December. With no release window announced, it's clear that *Intergalactic* is years away from completion. Given the studio's focus on this space-themed endeavor, the likelihood of them working on *The Last of Us Part 3* in the near future seems slim. Druckmann might be playing his cards close to the chest, or perhaps he's genuinely not ready to commit. Only time will tell if his stance changes, or if he's truly finished with *The Last of Us*.

However, if you're still yearning for more *The Last of Us*, the television adaptation offers some solace. The second season is set to premiere on April 13 on Max. While Druckmann remains uncertain about the number of seasons needed to fully adapt the story of Part 2, an HBO executive hinted in February that four seasons might be the ideal number to wrap everything up.
