T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his work on the Maze Runner series and Netflix's Project Adam, has joined to write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad's involvement remains uncertain, he was previously attached to the adaptation.
Adding further weight to the project, Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick franchise, and his production company, 87Eleven Entertainment, will serve as executive producers. Stahelski is also currently involved in adapting another popular video game, Ghost of Tsushima.
Sifu, released in 2022, achieved remarkable success, selling over one million copies in its first three weeks. The game centers on a young martial artist's quest for revenge after their master's assassination. Utilizing a mystical pendant that allows resurrection at the cost of accelerated aging, the protagonist navigates a perilous world of mystery and danger.
