At the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, a speedrunner known as Ikaboze accomplished a remarkable feat by defeating the final boss of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch 2 in just seven minutes. The event had a strict 10-minute playtime limit, making Ikaboze's achievement even more impressive. Using an existing save file without prior knowledge of Link's equipment, Ikaboze decided to take on Ganon "completely naked and with all my equipment removed," showcasing incredible skill and adaptability.
Despite the challenges of using an unfamiliar controller and the noisy convention environment, Ikaboze's performance was met with spontaneous applause from onlookers. The content creator expressed surprise at the large crowd and the attention from staff, who were filming the event on their smartphones. This marked the first completion of the Breath of the Wild demo at the event, earning Ikaboze congratulations from the staff.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild offers improved visuals and performance, achievements, and the new "Zelda Notes" service through the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can access these enhancements via a $10 upgrade pack, which is also available at no extra cost to Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers.
