Pocketpair, the developer behind the wildly popular game Palworld, is set to roll out a significant crossplay update in late March 2025. This exciting update will enable seamless multiplayer gameplay across all platforms, enhancing the experience for the game's vast community. Additionally, the update will introduce a world transfer feature for Pals, allowing players to move their beloved creatures between different worlds. While specific details remain under wraps, Pocketpair shared a teaser image on X/Twitter, showcasing a thrilling battle between Palworld characters and a formidable Pal.

John 'Bucky' Buckley, Pocketpair's Communications Director and Publishing Manager, hinted at "a few little surprises" that will accompany the March update, adding an extra layer of anticipation for fans. This news is particularly thrilling for the 32 million players who have embraced Palworld since its early access launch in January 2024. The studio's 2025 content roadmap promises a wealth of new content, including an "ending scenario," ensuring that the momentum of this creature-catching survival game continues to build.

Since its explosive launch on Steam for $30 and its inclusion in Game Pass on Xbox and PC, Palworld has shattered sales and concurrent player records. Pocketpair's CEO, Takuro Mizobe, admitted that the game's success overwhelmed the company with massive profits. Swiftly capitalizing on this success, Pocketpair inked a deal with Sony to create Palworld Entertainment, a new venture aimed at expanding the IP and bringing the game to PS5.

However, the game's meteoric rise has not been without challenges. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair, alleging infringement on "multiple" patent rights and seeking an injunction and damages. In response, Pocketpair has identified the patents in question and made adjustments to how players summon Pals within the game. The studio remains defiant, pledging to defend its position in court and continue the legal battle against Nintendo and The Pokémon Company.
