Pedro Pascal, renowned for his roles in acclaimed series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, for her stance against the transgender community. This statement came in response to Rowling's support of a recent UK Supreme Court decision that legally defines "woman" as "a biological woman and biological sex," thereby excluding transgender women from protections under the Equality Act.
Rowling celebrated this ruling on Twitter/X with a photo of herself smoking a cigar and drinking by the ocean, captioning it, "I love it when a plan comes together." This was a reference to her financial contributions to For Scotland Women, the organization behind the lawsuit.

The controversy escalated when writer and activist Tariq Raouf posted a video condemning Rowling's actions, describing them as "serious Voldemort villain sht" and calling for a boycott of anything related to Harry Potter. In response to Raouf's video, Pascal commented, "Awful disgusting SHT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior."
Pascal's advocacy for the transgender community is well-documented. He has previously shared strong sentiments on social media, stating, "I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist," accompanied by a photo of a sign proclaiming, "A world without trans people has never existed and never will." Additionally, Pascal wore a "Protect the dolls" shirt to the premiere of Thunderbolts in London, a phrase used within the LGBTQIA+ community to refer to trans women.
His support is deeply personal as well; Pascal's sister, Lux Pascal, publicly came out as a trans woman in 2021. Pedro Pascal celebrated her announcement with a heartfelt message on social media, "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux," translating to "My sister, my heart, our Lux."
Pascal's vocal stance against JK Rowling's views and his ongoing support for the transgender community highlight his commitment to advocating for equality and human rights.
