People Can Fly, known for developing Bulletstorm and co-developing Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to create a new game codenamed Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, Project Delta is set to be developed as a work-for-hire game, though specific details about the project remain under wraps.
The studio is currently juggling a diverse portfolio of projects, each with its own codename. Among these are Project Gemini in collaboration with Square Enix, which experienced layoffs of 30 developers last year, and Project Echo, developed with Krafton. Another project, Project Red, appears to be linked with Sony as well. Additionally, People Can Fly recently announced that Project Bison, a VR project, would be their last venture into virtual reality.
In recent updates, People Can Fly suspended work on Project Victoria last December and scaled down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they canceled Project Dagger, which was intended to be an action-adventure game in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these adjustments, People Can Fly is still actively working on eight projects, including the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day developed in partnership with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day has not been disclosed, Project Gemini with Square Enix is slated for release in 2026.
