Persona and Metaphor: ReFantazio Composer’s New Turn-Based JRPG Gets A Free Steam Demo

Announcing a Free Steam Demo for Guns Undarkness, a Tactical Stealth RPG from a Persona Composer!

Get ready for Guns Undarkness, a new tactical stealth RPG spearheaded by Shoji Meguro, the renowned composer behind the Persona series and Metaphor: ReFantazio. Teaming up with Ilya Kuvshinov (Ghost in the Shell character artist) and Lotus Juice (Persona 3 rapper), this highly anticipated title is launching a free demo during the upcoming Steam Next Fest.

Meguro, a veteran composer at Atlus since 1995 (working on titles like Shin Megami Tensei and the Persona series), transitioned to indie development in 2021 while continuing his contributions to Atlus. Guns Undarkness, initially unveiled at Indie Live Expo Winter 2021 and successfully funded via Kickstarter in 2022, is his latest creation, published under Kodansha Game Creators Lab.

The demo, available February 24th, 2025, during Steam Next Fest, offers approximately 20 minutes of gameplay, covering tutorials on controls, combat, weaponry, and early-game strategies.

A Blend of Stealth and Turn-Based Combat

Inspired by Metal Gear Solid and Persona, Guns Undarkness casts players into a 2045 dystopia teetering on the edge of collapse. As a member of a private military company, you'll embark on crucial missions, forge alliances, and unravel the world's secrets to save humanity.

Gameplay seamlessly blends stealth and turn-based combat. Utilize stealth mechanics to navigate environments undetected, gaining a significant advantage in subsequent turn-based battles. Command your characters, strategically deploy firearms, and outmaneuver your foes.

Guns Undarkness is slated for Early Access release on PC in Spring 2025, offering approximately 10 hours of gameplay. A precise release date is yet to be announced. Don't miss the chance to experience the demo!
