The Pokémon Company has exciting news for fans of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). They've announced a new split expansion for the Scarlet & Violet series, titled *Scarlet & Violet: Black Bolt* and *Scarlet & Violet: White Flare*. Both expansions are set to launch on July 18, 2025, and will be available at participating retailers worldwide.
These expansions spotlight the 156 Pokémon originally from the Unova region. Each Unova Pokémon will be featured as either an illustration rare or a special illustration rare card, with unique versions distributed across the *Black Bolt* and *White Flare* sets.

Scarlet & Violet: Black Bolt will showcase the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom, while Scarlet & Violet: White Flare will highlight Reshiram. Both sets will introduce three types of parallel foil patterns, including designs featuring either a rainbow Poké Ball or Master Ball across the card.
Additionally, the expansions will revive elements from the Black & White series, including nostalgic foil styles and Basic Energy cards with the original Black & White designs.
Preorders for *Black Bolt* and *White Flare* are expected to become available around mid-May, following the reveal-to-preorder window observed with the *Pokémon TCG: Destined Rivals* set, which launches this month. Keep an eye on IGN for the latest updates on preorders and Pokémon TCG stock, and follow @IGNDeals on Twitter for real-time drops. Below are the confirmed release dates for each set within the new *Black Bolt* and *White Flare* expansions.
