The excitement is palpable as the next big release for the Pokémon TCG, Destined Rivals, approaches. I'm already clearing space on my shelf and mentally preparing to splurge on an Elite Trainer Box I definitely don't need but absolutely want. This set promises a thrilling return of Trainer's Pokémon, a fresh bout with Team Rocket, and some of the most stunning card art we've seen in a while. If you're a fan of dazzling collectibles or just love the thrill of powerful cards, this set is not to be missed.
The Pokémon Center website has mysteriously undergone "maintenance" and is now open for preorders. If you miss out there, don't worry—listings will soon appear on Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and other retailers. It's time to start refreshing those pages like it's Black Friday for battle decks. Here's all the information you need to secure your preorder this week.

When Does Destined Rivals Officially Launch?
--------------------------------------------
The official launch date for Destined Rivals is set for May 30, 2025. That's when all sealed products will begin shipping and hitting store shelves, provided there's any stock left. The Pokémon Company has been working to address ongoing stock issues. Between May 17 and 25, select stores will host pre-release events featuring Build & Battle boxes and early access tournaments. If you're interested, contact your local league store now—perhaps with some snacks to sweeten the deal.
What Products Will Be Launching With This Set?
----------------------------------------------
I'd love to convince myself I'll only buy one item, just as I'd like to believe I'll hit the gym three times a week. But let's be honest, we're all just kidding ourselves, and that's okay.
Here's what you can expect when Destined Rivals hits the market:
Booster Packs
Booster Boxes (36 packs)
Elite Trainer Box
Pokémon Center Exclusive Elite Trainer Box
Booster Bundle (6 packs)
Triple-pack blisters
Build & Battle Box
Build & Battle Stadium
We'll likely see special collection boxes featuring alternate art promos, particularly with characters like Cynthia, Misty, Ethan, or Marnie. You don't need them, but you'll probably end up convincing yourself otherwise.

Destined Origins Cards I’ve Got My Eye On
-----------------------------------------
I'm already planning to fill multiple binders with these cards, but a few have already captured my heart.
Cynthia’s Garchomp ex is a powerhouse that screams Champion energy. With its ability to deal big damage and draw cards, it's a card I need three of.
Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex combines utility with elegance. Its ability to accelerate Fire Energy and heal your team with Shining Feather is game-changing, and I'm completely smitten.
Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex is all about drama. It won't attack unless you're fully committed to a Rocket-themed deck, but when it does, it's a force to be reckoned with. Its extra flair is something I admire.
Misty’s Psyduck is here for laughs and unexpected gameplay. Its ability to shuffle itself to the top of your deck is quirky, and I love it for that.
Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex embodies villainy with its aggressive Dark-type strategy. It thrives on energy acceleration and disruption, and I'm ready to relive the thrill of 2020 with this deck.
