Nintendo's latest announcement: a LEGO Game Boy! Learn more about this exciting collaboration between Nintendo and LEGO.
Nintendo has revealed its newest LEGO collaboration – a buildable LEGO Game Boy! Launching October 2025, this follows the successful LEGO NES release.
While exciting news for fans of both brands, the Twitter (now X) announcement sparked a flurry of comments about the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. One user humorously thanked Nintendo for "finally revealing the new console," while another quipped that a LEGO Switch 2 might arrive before the actual console.
Although details on the Switch 2 remain scarce, Nintendo President Furukawa confirmed on May 7, 2024, a reveal "within this fiscal year" (ending March). Fans will have to wait a bit longer for official information.
Pricing for the LEGO Game Boy hasn't been disclosed, but further details are expected in the coming weeks or months.
Beyond the NES, Nintendo and LEGO have previously partnered on sets featuring beloved characters from franchises like Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda (TLZ).
In May 2024, LEGO released a 2,500-piece "Great Deku Tree 2-in-1" set from The Legend of Zelda, encompassing elements from Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild. This set, priced at $299.99 USD, includes Princess Zelda and the Master Sword.
Two months later, a Super Mario World LEGO set featuring Mario riding Yoshi debuted. This unique set, priced at $129.99 USD, showcases the iconic characters as in-game sprites, with a rotating crank to animate Yoshi's leg.
