Maintaining your footwear is crucial in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This guide details how to acquire and repair shoes to avoid the perils of going barefoot.
Acquiring Shoes:
While you begin with a pair, replacement options abound. Loot chests and fallen enemies (poachers, etc.) often yield footwear. Alternatively, purchase shoes from vendors. Tailors offer shoes, but cobblers provide superior quality options. Locate cobblers using their map marker (three red circles); one is found early on in Trosky. Note that cobblers, such as Cobbler Matthew, may also sell horse equipment and crafting kits.
Repairing Shoes:
Two methods exist for shoe repair. First, utilize cobblers or blacksmiths. Select the repair option during dialogue; a menu will appear, displaying repair costs. Note that Craftsmanship skill perks reduce these costs.
Secondly, self-repair is possible, contingent on your Craftsmanship level. Insufficient skill prevents repairs. A Cobbler's Kit is required for self-repair. These kits are obtainable from various vendors (cobblers, blacksmiths), chests, and looted NPCs. Access the kit via your inventory; the interact button ("E" on PC) opens a repair menu. Faded items indicate insufficient skill.
This process also applies to other gear using a Blacksmith's Kit. While vendor repairs are convenient, maintaining well-maintained equipment is advantageous.
