Rumor: ‘Nintendo Switch 2 Replica’ Has Been Showcased By Accessory Maker

At CES 2025, Genki unveiled a physical Nintendo Switch 2 replica, offering insights into its potential design. This purported replica suggests a larger console than its predecessor, with side-detaching Joy-Cons.

Images from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas allegedly depict a highly accurate physical model of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. While Nintendo remains tight-lipped, speculation surrounding the Switch 2's features and design continues to intensify. Numerous rumors, often originating from accessory manufacturers granted early access to specifications, fuel this anticipation.

Genki, a prominent accessory maker, reportedly showcased this Switch 2 replica privately at CES 2025. According to Netzwelt, a German tech website, the replica's dimensions precisely match the anticipated Switch 2 hardware. This makes it arguably the most credible representation of the console's physical form to date, potentially corroborating earlier leaks.

Genki's Replica Hints at Switch 2 Design

Netzwelt's images suggest a notably larger Switch 2, featuring a screen comparable in size to the Lenovo Legion Go. The Joy-Cons, unlike the current Switch, appear to detach via a sideways pull, lending credence to rumors of magnetic attachment. However, a mechanical locking mechanism is speculated to prevent accidental disconnection. Interestingly, the right Joy-Con displays an unlabeled extra button.

Genki's primary purpose in creating the replica was to demonstrate its upcoming Switch 2 accessories. The company plans to release a total of eight accessories, including cases and a dock. Notably, Genki refrained from divulging any information regarding Nintendo's official Switch 2 release plans.

Given the increasing plausibility of recent leaks and rumors, an official Nintendo announcement of the Switch 2 hardware seems imminent. The anticipation is palpable among fans, developers, and publishers alike, especially considering the current Switch's age.
