Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a significant transformation of the game. This season introduces the captivating Cloud Oasis, a new area featuring innovative economic gameplay mechanics. Players will now have the chance to engage in more than just combat; they'll be able to build and manage their own aerial empire. By trading resources, assigning workers, and optimizing production lines, players can create a formidable stronghold in the skies.
Returning in this season is Thea, but with a fresh twist. Her new Blasphemer trait swaps her traditional divine powers for the curse of Desecration. This curse starts off modest but grows powerful, enhancing Erosion damage as her blessing power diminishes. Players can further customize this trait to suit their playstyle, whether it's amplifying Area of Effect (AoE) explosions or scaling effects based on health points (HP), making it ideal for those who enjoy damage-over-time mechanics and intricate build synergies.
The endgame content in Torchlight: Infinite is also receiving a major overhaul. The Deep Space area has been completely revamped, now boasting five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. A new system called Probes allows players to adjust the risk and reward balance. Each Probe increases the difficulty but offers the potential for better loot, including the chance to unlock Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
Additionally, the update introduces a Blending System for belt crafting. This system enables players to fuse Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot, providing deeper customization and more diverse build options. A new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, joins the fray, appearing on the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown and in the Plane Watcher encounters.
To celebrate the launch of Season 8, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. Participants can complete various tasks to earn Gold Rush Attempts and vie for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
