Silent Hill Transmission Sheds Light on Silent Hill f

New Official Reveal Trailer

The Silent Hill Transmission, broadcasted on March 13, 2025, provided fans with fresh insights into Silent Hill f, accompanied by an enthralling new trailer. This installment breaks tradition by being set in 1960s Japan, rather than the familiar U.S. backdrop.

The storyline follows Shimizu Hinako, an ordinary teenager whose life takes a dark turn when her town becomes engulfed in fog and undergoes terrifying transformations. As Hinako, players will navigate a town that's become unrecognizable, solve puzzles, battle eerie foes, and strive to survive, all leading to a critical decision. The narrative is described as "a tale about a beautiful yet terrifying choice."

Silent Hill f unfolds in the fictional Japanese town of Ebisugaoka, inspired by the real-life locale of Kanayama in Gero, Gifu Prefecture. The developers meticulously recreated the town, focusing on its intricate alleyways. They utilized reference photos and recorded ambient sounds from the area, blending these with historical materials to accurately depict the 1960s setting.

Find the Beauty in Terror

Motoi Okamoto, the Silent Hill series producer, highlighted that the core concept of Silent Hill f is to "find the beauty in terror." While retaining the psychological horror elements that have defined the series, the team ventured into the new terrain of Japanese horror. Okamoto explained, "Japanese horror often finds terror within beauty. When something is too perfect or beautiful, it becomes unsettling. Players will experience this through the perspective of a young girl confronting a beautiful yet terrifying decision."

Silent Hill f Is A Completely Independent Story

Okamoto emphasized that Silent Hill f offers a standalone story, accessible to newcomers yet filled with Easter eggs for long-time fans. He also noted that fans of the game's writer, Ryukishi07, known for his psychological Japanese horror visual novels, would find the game appealing.

As a dedicated fan of the Silent Hill franchise, Ryukishi07 has immersed himself in all previous entries. He described Silent Hill f as both a homage to the series' roots and a fresh set of challenges. One significant challenge was creating a game that felt authentically Silent Hill despite its departure from the series' traditional setting.

Ryukishi07 confidently stated, "From a creator’s standpoint, I believe we’ve crafted a true Silent Hill experience. We’re eager to hear from fans whether they agree after playing."

Silent Hill f is now available for wishlisting on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While an official release date has yet to be announced, you can stay updated with the latest news by checking our article below!
