The Sims franchise is marking its 25th anniversary with a bang, and while Electronic Arts has unveiled its celebratory plans, exciting surprises may still be in store.
A recent Sims teaser subtly alluded to the series' first two installments, sparking widespread fan speculation about a potential re-release. While official confirmation is pending, Kotaku sources hint at a possible announcement later this week: digital PC versions of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with their original expansion packs.
The possibility of console releases remains open, and the timing of such a launch is yet to be determined. Given the potential for significant revenue from tapping into fans' nostalgia, a console release seems highly probable.
The original Sims 1 and 2 are now quite dated, and readily available legal options for playing them are virtually nonexistent. Their return would undoubtedly be a welcome event for long-time fans.
