Surprise! Silent Hill 2 Remake Shadow Drops on Xbox Series X/S With 50% Launch Discount

It's happening — the brilliant Silent Hill 2 Remake is finally launching on Xbox Series X/S, with a massive 50% discount at release.

Fans have noticed the game is already for sale on the Xbox Store in Australia, where it’s already Friday, November 21. Store pages for the game in other regions are live too, but purchases aren’t yet possible outside Australia.

When it becomes available — likely at midnight tonight — the game appears to be launching at half price. The Australian version lists a recommended retail price of AU $99, now slashed to AU $50, a welcome relief after such a long wait.

Konami has yet to officially confirm the launch, but we’re just hours away from Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Partner Preview showcase, where the console maker will reveal a wave of new third-party titles. Tune in later today, Thursday, November 20, at 10am Pacific, 1pm Eastern, or 6pm UK time.

Silent Hill 2 Remake has been available since October 2024 on PC and PlayStation 5, though its arrival on Xbox Series X/S was widely anticipated. Last month, a new Xbox version appeared on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), hinting that the wait was nearly over — and now it’s here.

Silent Hill 2 Remake has sold 2.5 million copies worldwide, pushing the entire franchise’s sales past the 10 million mark. IGN’s Silent Hill 2 Remake review gave it an 8/10.
