Team Go Rocket Returns for Fashion Week and Ho-Oh's Shadow Raid Day in Pokémon Go

Get ready for an exciting Pokémon GO event during Fashion Week: Taken Over, happening from January 15th to January 19th. This event brings you face-to-face with Team Go Rocket, offering a thrilling opportunity to battle Giovanni and rescue Shadow Palkia. Alongside this, you'll have the chance to capture Shadow Ho-Oh during the Shadow Raid Day on January 19th.

Fashion Week also marks the debut of two new Pokémon: Shroodle and its evolution, Grafaiai. You can hatch Shroodle from 12 km Eggs. Keep an eye out for Team Go Rocket at PokéStops and in balloons, as they'll be appearing more frequently, giving you multiple chances to use a Charged TM to help your Shadow Pokémon forget the Frustration move.

New Shadow Pokémon are joining the fray, including Shadow Taillow, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Trubbish, and Bunnelby. You might even encounter some of these as Shiny Pokémon. These Shadow Pokémon can be challenged in various Shadow Raids, and for the first time, you can use Remote Raid Passes to participate in these raids from anywhere.

The event includes a special research task that will lead you to a Super Rocket Radar, culminating in a showdown with Giovanni to save Shadow Palkia. Additionally, you'll encounter Field Research tasks with rewards like Mysterious Components, Charged TMs, and Fast TMs. Completing the special Collection Challenge will earn you Stardust and an encounter with Trubbish.

On January 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, join the Ho-Oh Shadow Raid Day. This event provides extra Raid Passes and increases your chances of encountering Shiny Ho-Oh. Ho-Oh caught during this period can learn the powerful Charged Attack Sacred Fire. For $5, you can purchase an event ticket to access numerous additional rewards.
