These leaks have resurfaced two years later, indicating that the project is still in development. Recently, an introductory cinematic has been leaked online, suggesting a possible reboot of the game's development.

The leaked cinematic's origin and authenticity remain unconfirmed. It was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for leaking gaming content. Weber hinted that additional videos from Project U could surface if the game continues to be developed.

Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, inspired by the success of Helldivers 2. The leaked footage suggests that the game's narrative centers on an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players assuming the roles of chosen individuals tasked with fighting this extraterrestrial threat.
