Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Suffers Yet Another Delay, This Time to October 2025

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, with its new release date set for October 2025. This latest postponement, announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, comes after years of schedule adjustments. Although it's a few months later than the previously planned release in the first half of the year, there is some good news: the game itself is now complete.

According to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Executive Producer Marco Behrmann, "The status of the game right now is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases." This focus on quality assurance is aimed at ensuring a smooth launch experience for players.

Despite the disappointment of another delay, the update video also brought some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. Players can also look forward to an "evolved role" for the character Fabien in the storyline. However, the frequency of updates will be reduced going forward, as indicated by a recent post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.

The journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges. Initially announced in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs with a planned release in Q1 2020, the game faced multiple delays. The first delay pushed the release to late 2020, followed by further postponements to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit. In a significant shift, Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room in 2023, with a targeted release window of 2024. Despite these efforts, the game's release has now been pushed to October 2025.

With the latest delay, it remains uncertain whether Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will successfully launch this fall. However, The Chinese Room remains optimistic. In the meantime, Paradox Interactive has hinted at future plans, suggesting that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful release, "someone else" will be tasked with developing Bloodlines 3.
