Wuthering Waves 2.7 Update: New Story and Characters Arrive Next Month

Still exploring everything in version 2.6? Kuro Games has officially unveiled the next major update for Wuthering Waves. Version 2.7, titled 'Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides,' is set to launch in October. As revealed in the latest Preview Special Broadcast, this update introduces two new Resonators, new story chapters, fresh Echoes, limited-time events, system optimizations, and a suite of quality-of-life improvements.

The narrative continues with Chapter II Act X: The Bygone Shall Always Return and Chapter II Act XI: Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides, complemented by a new afterstory, 'A Stranger in a Strange Land.' These quests advance the core story while weaving in the mysterious new Resonators, Galbrena and Qiuyuan. Both characters will be available in separate limited Convene banners.

Combat receives significant depth with new Echoes, including nightmarish variants of the Viridblaze Saurian and Baby Roseshroom, plus the Flamewing’s Shadow Sonata set, which enhances Heavy Attack and Echo Skill synergy. This expansion arrives just in time for Halloween, along with a new Tactical Hologram challenge: Lioness of Glory.

A full slate of new events will keep players engaged throughout the patch. Lament Recon offers Solaris Soldier combat trials, Freeze Frame rewards creative in-combat photography, and Gifts of Approaching Dawn provides daily login bonuses. Seasonal events include the Lollo Campaign: Ice Savior and the platforming challenge, Septimont Weather Forecast.

Weapons also see new additions, with Lux & Umbra and Emerald Sentence headlining featured Weapon Convene banners.
