Mortal Kombat 1 has unveiled two consecutive character reveals. Yesterday's esports trailer offered a glimpse of the T-1000, but the Terminator isn't the next playable fighter. Instead, Conan the Barbarian is the focus, dropping next week for premium edition owners. Today's gameplay trailer showcases the Cimmerian's fighting style.

Conan's design clearly emphasizes his powerful, brutish nature. Expect high damage output from his heavy attacks, though agility and speed appear limited. His sword's extended reach might compensate for this, but matchups against characters like General Shao, Omni-Man, and Homelander will be intriguing tests of his capabilities.

While visually reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan's fatality lacks the spectacular flair of some other MK1 finishers. The acid-drowning execution feels somewhat underwhelming. However, the overall gameplay experience with Conan is likely to be more important than a single finishing move.

Premium edition owners gain early access on Tuesday, while everyone else must wait until January 28th.
