Skybound Entertainment showcased its upcoming Invincible fighting game today at Xbox Games Showcase 2025. Titled InvincibleVS, this 3v3 tag fighter will feature beloved characters from the comics and animated series including Mark Grayson (Invincible), Omni-Man, Thula, Atom Eve, and Bulletproof.
The game is slated for a 2026 release on Xbox Series X/S (with Xbox Play Anywhere support), PlayStation 5, and PC.
Official game description:
Developed from Skybound's award-winning comic series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley - which ran for 15 years across 146 iconic issues - InvincibleVS merges superhero spectacle with visceral combat. Players will wield devastating powers and execute bone-crushing combos through dynamic tag-team mechanics and tactical defense. Each brutal Super and Ultimate move intensifies the damage while transforming battle arenas into bloody wreckage.
"InvincibleVS represents my greatest excitement for the franchise," stated Kirkman. "It's insanely fun, lightning-fast, and channels the raw intensity of our comics and show. This is the superhero fighting game fans have wanted for years - unquestionably the best in its class."
The game will deliver multiple dynamic modes that escalate combat intensity. From a gripping single-player story to competitive multiplayer, character-driven Arcade challenges, and combo-mastering Training, players will experience unprecedented superhero combat where every world-shattering impact makes them feel unstoppable.
"We approached this as devoted fans," explained Executive Producer Mike Willette. "Every animation, voice line, and combat consequence carries narrative weight, culminating in that hard-earned victory rush. No tag fighter has achieved this level of relentless action - it's our love letter to fighting game enthusiasts crafted by genre veterans."
The project first surfaced last year through Skybound's crowdfunding initiative. Developed by an in-house 30-person team featuring veterans from Activision Blizzard, EA, and Epic Games, the game shows immense promise - especially for fans of the acclaimed TV series currently in its third season.
