Paramount Pictures has announced significant shifts in its movie release schedule, leading to delays for two highly anticipated Nickelodeon films: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These changes mean fans will have to wait several months longer than originally planned to see these movies.

According to Variety, the much-anticipated Avatar movie, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, will no longer premiere on January 30, 2026. Instead, it has been rescheduled for October 9, 2026. This delay pushes the release back nearly nine months from what fans were initially expecting. This is the second delay for the film, which was originally set to release on October 10, 2025. Paramount has also unveiled a brand-new logo for the movie, which you can view below.

No specific reason for the delay has been provided, but it's confirmed that voice actors Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam are still involved in the project. The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender will focus on the original Avatar protagonist in a story set many years after the series concluded. The film received its official title at last month's CinemaCon and is the first of three planned movies in this universe.

The sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, announced shortly before the first film's premiere in 2023, has also been delayed. Originally slated for October 9, 2026, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 will now hit theaters on September 17, 2027. This nearly year-long delay means fans will have to wait even longer to see how the story of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo unfolds, especially after the intriguing mid-credits scene in the first movie. While plot and cast details remain under wraps, fans can look forward to the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series to bridge the gap.
