Elden Ring Nightreign: No Poisonous Swamps, Two-Player Mode Possible
From Software's upcoming cooperative title, Elden Ring Nightreign, will notably lack the poisonous swamps frequently featured in their games. This omission, confirmed by product manager Yasuhiro Kitao, stems from the absence of Hidetaka Miyazaki, From Software's head and a known enthusiast of swamp environments, from the Nightreign development team. While a swamp-like area appeared in the trailer, Kitao clarified it's a distinct location. Miyazaki's influence is evident in the swamps present in Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series.

The possibility of a two-player mode remains open. Currently, only one-player and three-player modes are confirmed, with the exclusion of a two-player mode initially attributed to content balancing difficulties. From Software is actively considering adding this option, but a final decision is pending.
Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release on May 30, 2025, for PC and current and next-generation consoles.
