Fortnite's Master Chief Returns: How to Get the Legendary Spartan
The legendary Master Chief from the Halo franchise is back in the Fortnite Item Shop! This isn't a drill – after a lengthy absence, the iconic Spartan is available for a limited time, bringing his Halo Infinite armor to the Battle Royale. But how long will he stay? Let's dive in.
Master Chief's Return is a Christmas Miracle!
Master Chief's last appearance was June 3, 2022. His surprise return on December 23, 2024, is a welcome gift for Halo and Fortnite fans alike. This time around, he's here to stay... for a while.
How to Acquire Master Chief and His Gear:
The Master Chief outfit is available for 1,500 V-Bucks. Purchasing the outfit also grants the Battle Legend Back Bling. However, for the full Spartan experience, consider the Master Chief Bundle (2,600 V-Bucks), which includes:
- Master Chief Outfit
- Battle Legend Back Bling
- Gravity Hammer Pickaxe
- UNSC Pelican Glider
- Lil' Warthog Emote
Individual items are also available for separate purchase:
- Gravity Hammer: 800 V-Bucks
- UNSC Pelican: 1,200 V-Bucks

Unlocking the Matte Black Master Chief Style:
Want the sleek Matte Black variant? Here's how:
- Purchase the standard Master Chief outfit.
- Play a single Fortnite Battle Royale match on an Xbox Series X|S console.
The Matte Black style will then be unlocked automatically. Previous limitations on unlocking this style have been removed.
