After a brief stint in the mobile gaming world, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is coming to an end. Activision has announced that the mobile iteration of the popular battle royale will no longer receive seasonal updates or new content, and has been removed from the App Store and Google Play as of May 18th. Real-money transactions are now disabled, and anyone who hasn’t downloaded the game by the specified date will no longer be able to access it.

This unexpected closure marks the end of a significant mobile gaming venture that sought to deliver the complete Warzone experience to mobile users. While Activision praised the game for its faithful adaptation to mobile devices, it seems Warzone Mobile didn't capture the same level of engagement from the mobile community as it did on PC and console platforms.

If you've already installed the game, you can continue to play online past May 19th. Matchmaking and online play will persist for the time being, though social features have been turned off. There's no set date yet for when the servers might shut down completely. The in-game store will still be accessible, but only for those with existing COD Points, and no new purchases can be made.

As a gesture of goodwill, players can transfer their remaining COD Points to Call of Duty: Mobile. Until August 15th, logging into Call of Duty: Mobile with the same Activision account will grant you double the value of any unused COD Points from Warzone Mobile, plus additional bonuses.

For those who have not yet installed or reinstalled the game by May 19th, this is your final chance. Post-deadline, no refunds will be available, and the game will become inaccessible. This marks a disappointing conclusion to what was promoted as a major expansion of the Warzone franchise, serving as a stark reminder that even the most renowned titles aren't assured longevity on mobile platforms.
