Prepare yourself, Guardian – Bungie has just revealed exciting new content coming to its sci-fi shooter Destiny 2, featuring two major expansions and significant seasonal updates available to all players under the banner of the "Year of Prophecy."
Marking a first for the franchise, Year of Prophecy delivers four major content releases – two premium expansions and two substantial free updates.
The journey begins with Rite of the Nine, currently available as free content offering dungeon-crawling action for both veterans and newcomers alike. While featuring familiar dungeons like Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghosts of the Deep, even experienced Guardians will discover surprising twists involving Orin and refreshed weaponry.
On July 15, Destiny 2 will launch its first premium expansion – The Edge of Fate – beginning a multi-year narrative arc centered around the enigmatic Nine. This expansion introduces new characters including ally Lodi and Warlock Vanguard Ikora while unveiling Kepler, a mysterious new destination blending puzzle-solving with deep exploration.
Simultaneously arriving on July 15 is a major game systems overhaul featuring revamped armor mechanics and a streamlined activity selector called the Portal. This interface consolidates Fireteam Ops, Pinnacle Ops, Crucible Ops and introduces Solo Ops – specially designed missions for lone wolves. Fifty new modifiers provide unprecedented customization options while curated rotations ensure fresh challenges.
