Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Spooky Vote and Community Concerns
Destiny 2 players will soon cast their votes on new, horror-themed armor sets for the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. Bungie's "Slashers vs. Spectres" theme pits iconic villains against ghostly figures, offering players a choice between terrifying designs inspired by horror legends.
This year's options include Jason Voorhees (Titan), Ghostface (Hunter), and a Scarecrow Warlock for the Slasher team, while the Spectre team boasts the Babadook (Titan), La Llorona (Hunter), and, finally, an official Slenderman Warlock set.
The announcement, however, comes amidst growing community concerns. While the new armor is exciting, many players express frustration over persistent bugs and a perceived decline in player engagement during Episode Revenant. Issues such as broken tonics and other gameplay glitches, though largely addressed by Bungie, have left a lingering sense of disappointment among a segment of the player base.
The reveal of Festival of the Lost 2025 armor, ten months before the event, has also drawn criticism. Some players felt that Bungie should have prioritized addressing current game issues and player feedback before focusing on a future event. The ongoing decline in player numbers and the persistence of bugs have fueled this sentiment, highlighting a disconnect between developer and community expectations.
Despite the controversy, the upcoming Festival of the Lost promises a chilling choice of armor sets, leaving players to decide whether to embrace the Slashers or the Spectres this Halloween. The 2024 Wizard armor, previously unavailable, will also be making a comeback during Episode Heresy.
