Digimon Alysion: A Story Mode in the Pokemon TCG Rival

Digimon enthusiasts have much to look forward to following the exciting reveals at DIGIMON CON 2025. Bandai Namco unveiled their latest venture into the mobile gaming arena with Digimon Alysion, a new mobile trading card game (TCG) designed to expand the franchise's reach and engage a broader audience.

Digimon’s New Mobile TCG Digimon Alysion Is In Development

On March 20, during the DIGIMON CON 2025 Livestream, Bandai Namco announced the development of Digimon Alysion, a free-to-play mobile TCG. Drawing inspiration from successful mobile card games like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap, Digimon Alysion aims to attract both new and seasoned TCG fans. Players can look forward to collecting cards featuring various Digimon and characters, constructing their decks, and engaging in battles with others.

A key feature setting Digimon Alysion apart is its speculated story mode, promising a richer gameplay experience beyond standard and competitive play. The newly released trailer provides a glimpse into the gameplay and introduces an all-female cast, including new characters Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, alongside a novel Digimon called Gemmon. While no specific release date has been set, a closed beta test is on the horizon, with more details to follow.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger More Details Revealed

The event also shed light on Digimon Story: Time Stranger, with producer Ryosuke Hara sharing insights into the game's narrative, characters, and Digimon. The game offers players the choice of three starter Digimon from the iconic Digimon Adventure series: Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon, aligning with fan speculations based on promotional materials.

Hara also announced that Time Stranger will feature over 450 Digimon, the largest roster in the series to date, surpassing its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory. The trailer showcased some of these Digimon, including Angewomon, Gallantmon, and the beloved Agumon.

Players can select from two protagonists, Dan Yuki or Kanan Yuki, both secret agents working for ADAMAS, an organization dedicated to uncovering threats to humans and Digimon. The game's narrative will revolve around time travel, with the main heroine, Inori Misono, and her partner Aegiomon accompanying players on their journey through different eras.

In addition to these major announcements, DIGIMON CON 2025 showcased a 25th Anniversary PV for the Digimon Anime, new starter decks and booster packs for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and teased a new anime series, Digimon Beatbreak, set to premiere in October 2025.
