Roblox developer Kitawari's Anime Vanguards receives a significant Winter Update 3.0, introducing substantial changes to its tower defense gameplay. This update focuses on enhancing the player experience with a revamped lobby, a host of new units, and numerous quality-of-life improvements.

The most striking change is the completely overhauled lobby, providing a significantly larger and more visually appealing space for players. This is accompanied by a remastered UI, particularly a cleaner and more intuitive stage selection interface. Kitawari stated in the patch notes that the previous lobby was too small and limited, prompting this extensive redesign. The new lobby even features a customizable day-night cycle accessible in the settings.

Key additions include a new game mode, "Portals," encouraging players to utilize winter units and skins for enhanced rewards. A Sandbox Mode offers unrestricted experimentation with strategies. Twelve new units are introduced across a Winter Banner, the Portals mode, the battle pass, and leaderboard rewards.

Quality-of-life improvements include smoother unit placement, a dedicated tab for Evolution Quests, searchable skins and familiar windows, and clearer unit targeting indicators.

New Features

• 12 New Units: Distributed across a new Winter Banner, Portals game mode, Battle Pass, and Leaderboard rewards. Specific units include Emmie (and her Ice Witch variant), Rom and Ran (Fanatic), Foboko (Hellish), Karem (Chilled), Rogita (Super 4), Soburo (Contract), Regnaw (Rage), Dodara (Contract), Sosora (Puppeteer), Seban, Rodock, and Giyu.

• New Game Mode: Portals: Features unique mechanics and tiered rewards, including three new familiars (Doggo, Sebamon, Padoru), winter currency, and gift boxes. Utilizing winter units and skins enhances rewards. A new elemental interaction system adds strategic depth.

• New Game Mode: Sandbox Mode: Allows players to experiment freely with units, enemies, resources, and stats.

• Boss Event Rerun: The Blood-Red Commander Igros boss event returns, with weekly cycling of boss events. The boss event shop is restocked.

• Revamped Lobby and UI: A significantly improved lobby with a customizable day-night cycle and a streamlined stage selection UI.

• Unit XP Fusing: Allows players to fuse unwanted units to level up others.
