Among Us x Genshin Impact Collab Adds New Roles

Among Us version 17.0.0 has arrived with two fresh gameplay-changing roles and a surprise collaboration with Genshin Impact. Innersloth has added innovative abilities for both Crewmates and Impostors that will transform strategy during Emergency Meetings and sabotage attempts.

Meet the New Roles

The update introduces two powerful new characters: the Detective for Crewmates and the Viper for Impostors. The Detective marks a first for Crewmate roles by featuring dual special abilities. Their Notes feature allows documenting body locations, maintaining suspect lists, and identifying Impostor types.

Additionally, the Interrogate ability enables pressing other players about their alibis during investigations. However, interrogations have capacity limits - multiple simultaneous murders will require case prioritization.

Meanwhile, the Viper grants Impostors a terrifying new elimination method using acid. Rather than standard corpses, their victims undergo a three-stage dissolving process that leaves only skeletal remains before complete disappearance.

Strategic Viper players can time kills with sabotages to eliminate bodies before meetings occur. Customizable settings let hosts control dissolution speed, and a unique elimination animation completes the deadly new role.

Genshin Impact Crossover Event Details

The limited-time Among Us x Genshin Impact collaboration runs from September 11 through October 11, 2025. Players simply logging in during the event receive a free Paimon-themed cosmetic bundle including:

• Paimon Costume
• "Crest of the Best Travel Companion" nameplate

This unexpected partnership coincides with Genshin Impact's Version Luna I update and the debut of the new Nod-Krai region. The crossover stands out given Genshin Impact's history of high-profile collaborations with brands outside gaming.
