Ezra Miller, known for their role in The Flash, appears poised for a Hollywood comeback after facing abuse and harassment allegations along with other controversies since 2020.

Miller drew attention at this year’s Cannes Film Festival (Variety). Their appearance at the premiere of Lynne Ramsay’s latest film, Die My Love, marked one of their most high-profile public outings in years, hinting at an imminent return to the entertainment industry.

After rising to fame with films like The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), Miller solidified their Hollywood standing through roles in DC’s The Flash and Fantastic Beasts. However, backlash erupted when a video surfaced allegedly showing Miller assaulting a fan, sparking confusion and leading to subsequent controversies.

In 2022, Miller faced two arrests in Hawaii—first for disorderly conduct and harassment, then for second-degree assault weeks later. Later that August, Vermont authorities pressed felony burglary charges. Miller later apologized, citing mental health struggles while pledging to rebuild their life.

Following The Flash’s 2023 premiere, Miller stayed out of the spotlight until recent appearances at Cannes and Filming Italy Sardegna. Speaking with Lo Speciale Giornale, they hinted at tentative plans to re-enter film.

“I’ve been writing extensively—solitude suits me,” Miller noted.

One project includes collaborating with Ramsay on a screenplay. Miller described her as “one of the greatest living filmmakers” and confirmed their reunion for a new film.

Despite reluctance—“Cannes felt challenging”—they attended out of loyalty. Miller emphasized prioritizing relationships over public perception: “I believe in standing by your people.”

They acknowledged past missteps, adding, “While I regret much, I’m grateful for the lessons from that darkness.”

Miller also reflected on industry superficiality: “Many don’t truly care about you. But those who do have my unwavering respect.”

Ramsay revealed their upcoming vampire film stars Miller, though their broader acting plans remain unclear.
