Farlight 84 is undergoing its most significant transformation yet, set to relaunch globally on August 7th. Originally released in 2023, the game is receiving a comprehensive overhaul in its upcoming update—the largest in its history.
Farlight Games has poured over six years of development and $140 million in funding into revitalizing the game. Below, we break down all the exciting changes and additions coming to Farlight 84.
The relaunch introduces a long-awaited first-person perspective—finally giving players an alternative to the third-person view. This change is accompanied by enhanced graphics and refined controls for a more immersive experience.
The quirky Buddy System, which blends creature collection with combat, has been entirely revamped. Version 2.0 introduces new creatures and a powerful tier called Super Buddies—capable of altering matches by stealing equipment or reshaping terrain mid-fight.
The new Nextara map fully leverages Farlight 84’s parkour mechanics. Movement was always key, but now players can sprint, vault, and climb through a more vertical battlefield than ever before.
Fresh tactical options arrive with Kui Dou, a new hero joining the 60-player battles. Alongside reworked weapons and loadout systems, players can now craft hundreds of unique combat configurations.
For those craving chaos, look no further than the Rat Cannon—a weapon that literally launches players across the map. It’s as absurd as it sounds, and that’s exactly the fun of it.
Gunplay has also been meticulously refined, with 17 systems collaborating to deliver realistic impact feedback. Get a first look at Farlight 84’s rebirth below.
